I think I've finally come to a decision for an optic on my recce build. Millet DMS. What are some nice options for a scope mount? I've seen a lot of larue mounts, and I don't mind paying the money for a mount like that with the QD, but what other options are there?
I want something that looks nice and mounts securly and holds its zero. It doesn't have to be QD, but it would be nice to have. Pretty much I'm asking for other mounts that you all run, all I see are larue, so should I ignore the others and go with them? |

I have the Burris and the AD Recon X . The Burris PEPR works as advertised. I dont get the same amount of offset as the ADRecon X tho. Both will work fine.
I do prefer the Recon X because of the lattitude it gives me on placement. But then again it costs alot more. Either one is GTG in my opinion. But then again you wont go wrong with the Larue either. |

American Defense has ones similar to larue. I got the burris one that came with my millet DMS, i had to send it back cuz it was "tweaked", if they send me another bad one,ill go with American defense, yea I dont drink the koolaid. jus a personal thing for me. Tweaked ? Mine is fine . |

Tweaked ? Mine is fine . Yip. when mounted on both my ARs, it would put the scope off to the right by about 5-10 degrees, it wouldnt line pefectly with the barrel and was noticeable. I sent the mount back, waiting on replacement, if the same thing happens, the scope is going back, could be bent tube, no way to tell I guess. |

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. Do the larue and AD mount disconnect by moving the two levers? And the burris needs tools to remove it, correct? Correct. the Burris just needs a big screw driver or socket/wrench. I didnt need the quick release so never worried about it, but if the Burris is not up to snuff, ill switch to diff. company. with the burris mount, it put the scope perfectly for me and I was able to have room for my wilson combat BUIS. no interference at all. |
