so i have about $250 ish  and im contemplating a weapons sight, ived used Eotechs and really like them, but $100 for that metal shroud seems a bit steep, i dont usually throw my rifle down the driveway  i welcome any suggestions for other rugged sights you guys have used in that price range..

I have seen a couple 512 REV F's go for $275 on EE recently. Maybe a used EO would be an option?

Yeah I would want a more robust optic. I have seen and used the bushnell holosite. I think they are nice optics.

Short story about fragile optics.

I was at a range shooting. A table or two away someone had an AR with a C-more optic on it. ( I have seen and used one in a patrol rifle instructor class I took.) To dim for me but anyway. This guy was shooting and the range went cold. He placed his AR on his table and down we all went to check targets. Some how his AR falls off the table, hits the deck (you guessed it on the C-more site.) Sight's little plastic lens popped out and the frame around it was bent. I didn't say anything to him because at that very moment he was THAT GUY, and nobody wants to be that guy.

I know you are talking about the bushnell but think if your rifle just happens to fall off the table. Will it survive.

An Eotech may be destroyed also but at least there is some protection.
