I just got my first eotech yesterday, a xps2. I want to get a magnifier for it, but i don't have another 500 bucks to drop on the eo. Any suggestions?

500 bucks? I would just buy a good magnified sight, put both in Larue mounts, and change optics depending on mission. Works like a charm in the military.

I would look through one before you drop $500 on it. I have one for mine, and I'm not a big fan of it, even with the flip-to-side mount it came with. I would save up the money for a 1-4x scope or something similar unless you've looked through a magnifier and even shot with the set-up on an AR. I'm not sure if you can get a compatible Eotech magnifier for less than $400 (including the mount). The Aimpoint magnifiers will work on the Eotech but it needs the appropriate adjustable mount to reach its height.

I love my Eotech 3X FTS.  I have one of the original ones, and it works great for me.  But they are pricy.  There is a $50 rebate on the G23 magnifier until the end of the year.  Take a look at vtsupply.com.  You can get the G23 with FTS mount for just over $400 after rebate.

I love running my EoTech 3x magnifier. My word of advice, if you want to run it do it right. Research and test if you can, save up and purchase the optic you want, when you do save some coin and get it without the mount and then get one from LaRue. Yes it may be a little bit more in total but way worth it. The LaRue mount only moves when you want and it is less likely to foul and malfunction.

Laying out the money to run such a system is an investment. Make sure you really want/need it first then take your time and do it right the first time. Don't rush into it.

Best of luck and enjoy
