| Anybody ever had a white powdery substance come from inside an EOTech? I went to fire mine up last night, but it wouldnt turn on. Then i noticed this white stuff on the front lens. its coming from inside where the seam is between the main body and the battery contact plate. At first i thought it was battery corrosion, but the battery compartment is fine and so are the batteries. I sent L3 an email this morning to get a service request but have not been answered yet. |

From what I hear, EOtech has great customer service. Then again, they get a lot of practice... |

Interesting, my 512 did the same thing yesterday. My leakage was an 'oily' type of discharge, which came from the battery compartment and covered the lens (as it was standing up in the safe). There was a crystalline type of substance covering the lens. Assumed it was battery leakage, but couldn't find any type of deformation on the batteries.
Contacted Mike and he suggested that I scrub the terminals with baking soda paste to neutralize the acid, which I did. The sight works fine, but concerned with future issues. |

This is my first hearing of failure also. glad to hear they are helping out customers promptly. Hope they get is resolved, mine should be here in a few days, hopefully its under the tree already! Mike is great, we went back and forth discussing this issue yesterday. He was replying (on a Sunday) via his mobile phone. Can't think of too many folks who will do that. |

yes sir!!! that is indeed the cure to your problem |
| Got my sight back yesterday...all is well. looks like they replaced the guts o itf. I cant tell if its the same screen or not, but its the original housing with same SN. new buttons and it works as advertised. Thanks to Mike for the timely service and ease of warranty repair. |
