| Buying a scope for a Remington 700 .308. I really don't want to spend more than $400 on one. What do you guys suggest?? |

I'm in the same boat only mine is a Browning a bolt in 308.
I have a simmons 8point scope(cheapy) but did not like the performance. I have put on a burris fullfeild 2 scope(they have a nice combo package with binocs for 199). I have this same model scope on a remington 06 and it is real good. Holds zero with no problems at all. Leopald rifleman series is good for the money. I have one on a browning bar mk2 in 06 and it has held up well. 199 bucks. You should be able to find a good leopald, burris or bushnell(elite series) for under 400 bucks for your needs. Look at Natchess or SWFA(advertiser here) for good prices. |
| I have this: http://www.opticsplanet.net/burris-3x-9x-40mm-fullfield-30-european-rifle-scope.html with the Ballistic Plex reitcle on a .308 rifle and it is great. You could get this scope and some decent rings for under $400. The reticle works really well in my experience and the scope is of excellent quality. Plus Burris has a very good warranty. |
