I was thinking of getting a new eotech and i am leaning towards the 516. It is shorter than the 517 and i do not need NV capability. My other choice other than the 517 would have been the XPS 2 but I am skeptical about the miniature size. I was wondering if anyone here has had experience using the 516 and could give me any feedback?

I was also looking at both the 512 and 516. What convinced me was to bring my AR into the gun store (if they don't like that, ask to mount it on one of theirs) and mount it. The height difference between the 512 and 516 made all the difference. I got the 516 and have not looked back. Andy |
| 516 from Optics Planet. NIB and was made 10/09. Canted to the left and as it is a square design it shows more than a rounded design. With Carry handle and BIS the rear needs no windage movement from mech zero, so I know the FSB is true. Sight looked well made and OP sent a scope cover and some extra 123 batteries, but like I said it was too large for me and the cant was a show stopper. |
