First of all. I'd like to know why someone ask, what is the manufacture date of an EOTech. Is there a problem with certain years of manufacture?  I'm tying to decide which to buy. Aimpoint or EOTech. I'm goint to mount one on a Stag T2.  I'm leaning towards the Red Dot. Not going to any competation shooting.  Like to hear some pros and cons on both.

I thought Wednesdays were Aimpoint vs Eotech?

Eotechs are ok if random fail while shooting is ok.

Aimpoints can be broken or quit but don't have nearly the record of crapping out that the various flavors of Eothing do.

You will get a lot of personals, preferences, and bias  responds from this topic.  When chosing between optics it all comes down to what your intention for your rifle to be...on whether it is for hunting, plinking, or home defense.  From what you intent to put on the Stag 2T and no competition, either one is fine and definitely you will not go wrong w/ any on AIm or Eot.  both have its advan and disav.  I believe this comparisons was discussed before on...search on the topic and read it..it will give you the pro and con..obviously, I am not here to suggest you on what you should get..but what I have on my Stag 2T.  I like the verstile and the ability to moved frm CQB to LR..therefore, I have the EOTech 557 mounted w/ 3X FTS. I lik my setup..I think it would be a faster taget acq more than the AIM...due to the 65/1MOA dot w/ 556 cal. ticks..It also take very common 2AA battery which it sold everwhere..no problem on battery if it ran out...

best thing is to vist a sprting retail/ gun shop and test it out. It all comes down to your prefer..oh last thing, Aimport does not come w/ the ring mount..that is a separate cost––-added to the optic..Eotech is GTG. Good luck on your decsion..happy shooting..

Older original EOtechs were eating batteries like they were never turned off.  The fix IIRC was a REV F. So the year and a REV F marked on the armor is what people are looking to to LIMIT battery issues.  EOtechs are prone to auto-off function...sometimes while firing.
