I am looking at the leupold mark ar scope in 3x9x40 and am wondering if any body has any experience
with it. I am replacing an old weaver 4x that is probably 40 years old, still works ok at 100 yrds but I want to go
200 or 300 yrds and with my 66 year old eyes it gets a little fuzzy.
I will be putting it on my m4 clone 16 inch barrel with a carry handle it currently shoots 1.5- 2 " groups at 100
with pmc 55 gr ammo.

I have one on my Bushmaster Predator
Nice scope
The farthest distance to paper target I have shot to date is 200 yds.

I am no great shot but some of my 5 shot groups were within 3 inches or so at 200 yards (.223 Hornady 75 grain Match and TAP)
I could see the target pretty well.  Had a tough time seeing individual bullet holes at 200 yards through the scope.

I think it would work out as far as 500 yards (near the limit of the Predator range) for someone wth a good eye and good skills.
I plan to try reaching out farther in the near future
