CAA DVSR Scope Mount Review |

Quoted:
I had the exact mount.....it worked just fine for me. It doesn't cost $175, so many here will knock it The guy whose screen name is "HK_DUDE" is mocking users because they frown upon cheap shit firearms accessories. Are you familiar with the word "irony"? |
| I wouldn't say everything in CAA's inventory is "Crap". It's not the highest quality gear but some of it works fairly well. I would not put that scope mount high on the list of CAA gear I would consider using, there are other options out there that are not expensive and work very well. |

If you get a CAA side saddle - tie those f'in tube caps to the stock body. You'll thank me later.
They do not hold under heavy use. You will lose them. Had I done that I'd have only swore a little as I scrambled in the dirt for the batteries that fell out. Instead, I elected to rip mine off and throw it in the trash can the minute I got home. Ordered a Magpul ACS that afternoon and haven't looked back. |

But....you need to read my sig line I will agree with others as well......I am not saying there isn't anything better out there, but the stuff that I have used has been just fine. |

Yeah, I get the idea some of their stuff is junk - in fact, they're the same thing as UTG, aren't they?
But I'm not taking it into combat or anything - I just want to play around with a scope without paying $200 for it. My main concern is that it mounts with only one through-bolt ... I like a mount to have at least two pinch points on the rail for stability. But it doesn't have to be able to hold up to being thrown down the proverbial driveway or run over by the proverbial Hum-Vee. And there's a big gap in price between the low-cost mounts and the OMG ones. Until I get really serious about it, I ain't gonna fork over $200 or more for a mount, so I'm looking at less costly alternatives. . . |
| I use my one piece 30mm CAA scope mount for my DMS-1. Works great. I can't justify spending over 100 bucks for a chunk of metal... my CAA keeps a zero and is very sturdy. Great stuff. Only thing mission is a quick detach... but for the price, I'd rather go without. |

CAA crap? Of course it is, you're in AR15.com fer christ sakes!
I would like to read the review you done showing that it's crap. If no review share some personal experience with the mount. Provide details please. GC Dude, I'm being sarcastic, that's why I added an emoticon. If you don't own Magpul or Larue you're in the shit list in AR15.com. ETA: by the way, I own that kind of mount (except from Primary Arms which will save you about $10 from the CAA branded one) mated with a KONUS (which I find your review helpful MAX100). |

It depends what you're talking about. Their stuff is standard issue so I got to fingerfuck a lot of their gear, mostly flashlight mounts, railed handguards, and VFGs.
While it's not impressive, their bolt-on rails are good enough if all you're running is a flashlight and they do keep the weight down. Their flashlight mounts work OK too. I don't know if I'd trust a scope mount by that company. Their side saddle is downright awful. |

Leapers is an OEM, which means if you call them and ask them to build a blah blah blah, they will and slap your name on it. They did this with tacticool AR15 stuff and clone stuff made in China. They made some much money on it, they gave it its own name...UTG (Under The Gun) CAA is the same thing, but the parent company is Fab Defense. Fab defense is a company in Israel who has been making AR15 stuff for years. I think Fab has been around since Israel was formed. Other "off-spring" of Fab defense is Mako Tactical. A company founded by former special forces members who liked Fab defenses business plan of "make what works, not whats pretty". Mako is out of New York, CAA is out of Pennsylvania I think. |

CAA andFab Defense are totaly different companies.
I sell for CAA and Mako. CAA used to be TDI Arms. Fab Defense is their direct competition. Addy Sandler started Mako after leaving TDI Arms. Mako is the onlu US distributer of Fab Defense. Also both companies make great stuff. I have sent many CAA and FAB Defnse items to our troops overseas with no issues at all in active combat. AR15.com has choosen CAA as a whipping horse so it takes a beating here. Buy what you want and be done with it. |
