| I have a friend that just picked up a Remington Model 700 P LTR and he is looking into scopes right now but he is also wondering what to do about the chance happening of a 5-20 yard shot opportunity because it has no iron sights. I was thinking that he could mount something like a Trijicon Doc Optic at an angle to the scope... is there anything that you guys know of or has anyone here done this? Pics maybe? Thanks. |

I've got a Burris XTR 6-24x scope with TNV's RDP-II and a Larue mount on one of my Ar15s.
While I'm happy with the scope/larue mount I am not happy with the RDP-II red dot and I don't recommend it. Just like every other micro red dot, the RDP-II does not offer external brightness adjustment, they are all automatic. The RDP-II red dot will not illuminate in a dark room or low light  which is really why I purchased it (low light/up close shots)
I would recommend one of TNV's mounts, but not his RDP-II red dot.

That's why you carry a secondary. I've tried to make snapshots with a bolt gun and it's hard as fuck. Jay |
