| I have seen one of the ACOG models with a small set of backup sights on top of the ACOG. How do they do with CQB? Can you buy them and install them on a model that doesn't already have them? |

The ACOG is the TA01NSN and the back up sights were specifically requested by the military.
The lower rear brackets and the front sight dovetail are forged directly onto the scope body. There are mounts available that allow you to mount a small Dr. Optic type dot optic to the top rear of many ACOG scopes. Not sure who all makes them, there are several available. ECOS models have Dr. Optic dot sights already installed. I use a TA01NSN with a Trijicon Red Dot optic on a protective wing mount. The original aperture back up sight was OK, the dot optic is much, much better and faster. |

Most people think those back up sights on top of the TA01NSN are a gimmic. I've actually got mine zeroed left and right and they do work as advertised, plus the rear glows in the dark Using the sights mounted on top of my ACOG I can hit a man size target at 50 yards just by a simple position change of my check weld, and can usually hit a 100 yard target. I use them as intended, as a backup for the 1 in a million case of the ACOG going fubar. |

not only TA01NSN, also the ECOS models have a BUIS. ECOS BUIS pic I have a TA01NSN; the BUIS works within 15 meters against a human target but its not that great. btw, BUIS cant be installed on a model that doesnt have them because you wont be able to install the front sight post. |
