I have a flat top AR with an Eotech and rear flip up.......it works well. Have just got a 3x mag from Mako; I dont have enough room to mount all 3 items on the flat top.
What options do I have? Mark |

How far forward on the receiver can you mount the Eotech? I have an Eotech 552 (the long one) that hangs over the receiver by an inch and a half. I have a four rail non-floating handguard that replaced the standard plastic handguard, so the fwd end of the Eotech rides the top rail on the handguard which lines up with the receiver rail The Eotech clamps to the receiver however. I don't have a magnifier, but the BUIS is mounted all the way aft on the rail. This leaves exactly 1" of rail room between the back face of the EoTech and the fwd face of the rear sight, not enough to mount much of anything but enough for good access to the EoTech controls.
Don't see much alternative other than to mount the EoTech on a floating handguard freeing up all kinds of room on the weapon receiver. I'm not really familiar with that equipment as I've never had a need. Figured that if I ever got a magnifier, I'd ditch the BUIS. |
