I am looking at trying to get a ACOG and have some questions.
-How long is the tritium suppose to last? When it dies how much is it to get replaced? -Why is it most people i see tend to pick the TA11 instead of the TA01? I know they are x32 to x35 but is the zoom too much for CQB? -donut, chevron, circle, or crosshairs and why? -lastly, how close to MSRP have they been going for lately? |

I recently got my ta31h and i love it, it has tritium and fiberoptic. very crisp and is compatible the BAC so it will work fine for cqb with a little practice.
Tritium is garanteed for 15 yrs in the acog, 10 in the ta01 i paid 1159 to my door from midway. http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x221/evanmurray_photo/DSC01332.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x221/evanmurray_photo/DSC01335.jpg |

The TA11 has the fiber optic tube to pick up light and make the reticle brighter along with the tritium inside. It can be used for close up with both eyes open where the TA01 is just a cross hair reticle and tritium for low light use.
The TA01 is a 4x so the eye relief is pretty short. The TA11 is much more forgiving. I tried a TA01 and hated it because of th eye relief. I now own 2 TA11s and love them. One has the bonut and one has the chevron which is more precise then the donut. |
| thanks, i didn't notice the difference in eye releif between the 3.5's and 4's. I think i am just looking at the TA11J and TA31H now. I am going to see later in the summer if I can find someone with one and use it to see if i like it. On your 3.5's, do you ever see a need to a docter or something for close objects? |

I have a TA11D (red triangle) that I really like a lot. I have had it for years so I can't comment on current cost. I also have a TA33-9 w/ Amber cheveron. My eyes see the red better. I am kind of interested in the new green options that are out now. That will have to wait for awhile.
FB ETA: I think the current 1/2 life on the insert is in the 12 year range. No idea on replacement cost. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
