I would like to have a EOtech when I have the $$ but I want a BUIS just to shoot the rifle.
Is the RRA Dominator 2 a good item? Or shout I just get a Troy and add an EOtech later? |
| The Dominator is a fine product and when you get the EoTech, you'll get a lower 1/3 cowittness which is preferred by some. The Dominator also has elevation adjustment, if I recall. If you acquire a standard buis now, it probably wont have elevation adjustment, and when you mount the EoTech you'll have the "absolute cowittness" if that's what you want. Absolute cowittness means the iron sights will be dead square in the middle of the Eotech field of view. If your intent is to mount the Eotech on a riser, then you'd be advised to go with the Dominator from the get go. |

The main downside of the Dominator is if you decide to go with a different optic solution later, or with one of the Eotechs with the riser built in. The Troy is more flexible and will work with almost anything, but you won't have the lower 1/3 co-witness with a standard height Eotech.
