I just got a Midwest Industries ERS rear sight and I was wondering if it is normal to have a little play in it when it is in the locked up position. The sight actually does lock (it won't go down without pushing in the takedown pin), but I can wiggle the sight forward and back a little bit. When I let go it does seem to go back to the full up position, however. Opinions?

I just got one and it's the same exact way. I was actually wondering the same thing.

Same on my MI SPLP. It has a little play in it, but will always spring to the forward position.

I talked to Troy from MI and he advised that it is normal for our sights to do this. He advised that the sight has a little give in case it gets knocked around, but will always return to full upright position. GTG.
