does anyone have any experience with the new Leupold VX-3 scopes, particularly the higher magnifications. Are they worth the money. I should be close to receiving the RRA Predator Pursuit. I like high magnification scopes, even if they are too high for 223's
any help would be appreciated. |

Leupold make very good scopes. I have used the VX-III and the VX-3 are the replacement they are even better than the VX-III. I have right now on my 24" AR a 4.5-14x40mm and it works great.

| I think I want the 8.5-25X50. I have one of the older VX III's that i bought back in 95 or so. I am used to looking through it. I am having a hard time paying the high price of the Leupold. I have still got to pay for the gun, plus I have been buying ammo, which ain't cheap either |

I just bought a VX-3 2.5-8X36 with the Boone & Crockett reticule for my X-Bolt. Comparing that to a VX-III the differences (to me) are subtle, but apparant if you look for them. If I didn't have a VX-III to compare I'd have had a hard time telling them apart. The greatest difference was the light gathering. The VX-3 seems to be a little more crisp n' bright at dusk. Beyond that, everything's stepped up a little....the knobs are nicer, dial is smoother and has less cranking to adjust the power...etc....small stuff, but it's definately there. Leupold's VX-3 is a VERY slick piece of glass.

It is hard to go wrong with a Leupold they offer a very good scope. I feel the NEW VX-3 have better glass than the past years.
