I have a AN/PVS-14 with 2 battery setup.  I was going to put it behind a 552, or should I put a magnifier setup behind it instead?  ALso, what is the best mount for the $$ to use with it?

I have the GG&G setup.  With it you can switch between the magnifier and the PVS-14.

I can't say whether it is the best option, but it does work well.  It is pretty pricey, but it can be a good deal if you buy the magnifier and base as part of one of GG&G's package deals.

The GG&G ring does not prevent you from head mounting the PVS-14.  So the PVS-14 can go either on your helmet or your rifle without any fuss.

I actually use this setup with an Aimpoint in a cantilever mount.  There would not be room I don't think with a 552 mounted on the reciever unless you didn't have a BUIS.  You would probably need to mount the Eotech on a railed FF forearm.

WOW ... that's inventive. Too bad LaRue didn't come up with it

That's versatile as hell. I'd be tempted to go with an Aimpoint, NV, and optional magnifier (maybe a clone).

Hard to beat that.

You also can wear the J-Arm adapter while the 14 is mounted to your weapon as well.  Total transition time from head to weapon and vice/versa....Under 10 seconds.

You can also use a Aimpoint twist mount with a PVS-14 twist mount ring that works with the AP magnifier as well.  I prefer this setup the best for me.

Edited, also our NV FORUM is here.
