The Trijicon website states this is calibrated for mounting on a carry handle. Can you mount it on a flat top? Will it be accurate?

I don't see anything on that web page saying that this optic is "calibrated" for anything specific other than .223. It says that the TA11B has a BAC reticle, but I don't think that the placement of the optic has anything to do with it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work just fine for ya. There's many different mounts to choose from, but I'd go LaRue. |

It doesn't have a BDC reticle.
From Bill Taggart of Trijicon: The outer ring of the reticle is about 23.4 MOA. The illuminated triangle looks to be about 6 MOA wide, 4 MOA tall. The black vertical post beneath the triangle is about 6 MOA tall, with about a 2 MOA gap between the tip of the vertical post and the base of the illuminated triangle. Outside of the 23 MOA aiming circle are two horizontal bars (black). Each bar is about 10 MOA distance from the edge of the aiming circle. One on the left side, one on the right. These bars are about 5 MOA long, and are used to indicate camber when aiming. This reticle is very fast for target acquisition, but since it doesn't have a bullet drop compensator, it has some limited application. If one understands the reticle very well and practices, BDC can be determine by using the vertical post under the triangle. So there you have it. I'm planning on getting one with a green triangle. My favorite ACOG by a slim margin is my TA11C (over my TA55A). |

Thank you for the responses. My original question is can the TA11B be mounted on a flat top and will it be accurate since it seems to be set up for a handle mount. Per the last post is this not an issue because it only matters for BDC?
I don't want a doughnut reticle am looking for something more precise and I feel the Doughnut covers up too much target at 100 yards plus. My intended purpose is using at the range. |

If I understand your question correctly. The accuracy of the scope itself will not be affected by where you mount it. Since there is no BDC, as someone pointed out, it won't matter where you put it. You will need a Flat top adapter (mount). I am sure LaRue makes one.
