If your mind is still open to something other than 4x, consider LaRue's 2.5x PoBoy Special. I have had used an EOTech512 combined with the PoBoy to fire in excess of 1K rounds and I am more than pleased. Most of my shooting has been done on 50 & 100 yard ranges.

| well the reason i ask is cause i have a knock off magnifier that is paired with a genuine optic, but the latch that holds the flip to side action broke. so the spring has it constantly flipped to side. I know to buy another knock off is like 80-90 bucks. I'm debating on seeing if i can just solder it down or something. i dont have the equipment to just put a tac weld on it to keep it closed. any ideas for a quick fix to just keep it closed? |
| I've seen this problem at the last 3-gun match. The shooter had a knockoff EOTech 4X magnifier and it broke within the first 3 strings of fire. He had the exact same problem you did (aka with that FTS mount). We messed with it for a bit and ended up tossing it. Sorry for the bad news but knockoff magnifiers seem alright but the quality of their mounts is atrocious (as you've already found out). |

It should do the job. If you just want it closed glue it and be done with it. What magnifier by the way? Happy with it? well right now the JB weld is curing... I bought the magnifier from Tacticalgeardepot.com the magnifier itself is good. good quality field of view, good optical transmission. not as hefty as the real deal, but thats a trade off i was willing to make. never gonna use the thing in any LEO, military type mission, just a range toy. Mount was flimsy as we found out, but eh, i'm happy with it overall. |
