OK OK before you tell me to get rid of this and get an Eotech I got this temporarily. I borrowed it from my HD shotgun just to get a feel as to what it would look like. My issue is that the reticile is located right at the point where my front sight meets the front site base. Do you use a riser to get over this or remove the fron sight? Does the Acog or Eotech do this with the standard front site setup?

I was told by a member here that with the flip up rear site you do your elevation work at the front sight. I understand with the carry handle you have your 6/3 or 8/3 setting. Is this do to it being so high?

They say that a properly mounted scope will be 2.5 inches above the barrel. Is this center of scope and if so is that to clear the front sight which is at 2"

If it's the Holosight XLP - the futuristic looking one, rather than the Eotech style - it was designed for traditional rifles and shotguns rather than the AR, and the centerline is 0.5" lower than an AR needs.

Eotechs, and Bushnells that look like Eotechs, are the proper height for absolute co-witness on an AR.

If it's the XLP, you can put it on a 0.5" riser to get it to the right height for an AR.
