Will the aimpoint setup in this pic align correctly with Larue's Po Boy special?

I think so, but call or email LaRue to be sure. The optic that comes with the po boy is excellent.

I'm 99% sure that any mount that gives you a lower 1/3 cowitness will work with the LaRue magnifier mounts.

Definitely call LaRue to be sure and I would have an email ready to click 'send' so you can instantly forward it to the person you speak with. That couldn't hurt so that they put their eyeballs on the same thing you are looking at.

Thanks for the sugestion but I called Larue and asked them if I could send a pic and he said no...he wouldn't be able to identify compatibility. The question is if this setup is a lower 1/3 co-witness and being a noob I don't know the answer.

I 'might' know why LaRue would be hesitant to comment on a an A.R.M.S. product

Damn, we've just been sued by A.R.M.S. / Dick Swan

After reading that thread today ... I'll probably NEVER buy A.R.M.S. though I probably wouldn't have anyway.

I bet LaRue would be disgusted looking at this picture:

I have a feeling that A.R.M.S. will be less help. You're in a unique situation ... being caught in between the two. Never seen anything like it.

I have been researching this issue.

Lower third co-witness has a height of approximately 1.75 inches from the top of the rail to the centerline of the sight.

A centered co-witness is approximately1.50 inches.  The LaRue advertised po boy mount is about 1.75 inches.  They make a 1.5 inch one for the po boy , available by phone order only.  That's the one I ordered for a stock Aimpoint M4s to get a centered co-witness.

Contact the seller and ask him to measure it.

I've seen pics of the ARM22 cantilever like in this pic with the regular ARM detachable base line up with a aimpoint 3x which should be at the same level as the Larue Po Boy. As far as the lawsuit...ARM is in the wrong. It would be nice to have a matching Larue mount to put on the Larue base but I have a feeling it would be expensive. My main concern is making sure the setup is at correct eye level.

Could a more experienced member tell me if the ARM22/Larue QD setup in the pic above is a lower 1/3 co-witness? The Larue website says the po boy's lt649 mount sits at 1.725" centerline and should line up with a lower 1/3. Also I will have a MI ERS BUIS that sits at .75" folded...will the po boy optic clear this?

I'm thinking of using the ARMS mount for target practice and getting a full larue setup. Anyone know what model # the Larue QD in the pic is? and what larue mount would I need to mate with it for a 1/3 cowitness?

The LaRue Tactical version of that mount is the LT 150.

Good call on planning to use the ARMS for target practice.  LaRue is top of the food chain on mounts.  As for the Poor Boy, it is on the same mount that LaRue sells for the Aimpoint magnifier, and sits at the perfect height for a lower 1/3 cowitess, which is precisely where the LaRue LT150 mount will put your aimpoint at.

I love my poor boy!

I talked to larue. It looks like the QD mount is made for Surefires and they don't recommend using it as a modular system. So it looks like I will be selling the ARMS mount (I work at a Bank and might not have a job soon so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to use it for target practice) and either get the LT129 or LT150. I'm leaning towards the LT129 for the Po Boy.

Go for it; buy LaRue.  You will never regret it, and you will love your goodies!

HOWEVER, I would go with the LT649 for the Poor boy.  The LT129 is not a flip mount; you would have to take the whole mount off to get the magnifier out of the way.  With the LT649, you just pull the optic to the rear and flip it out of the way.  It is not spring loaded, and it locks out of the way until you want it back.  A LT150 and LT649 will line up perfectly, and will look really sweet on your rifle.
