So it's not a bad situation to be in but I'm in it.
I have a Noveske N4 lo-pro w/ a 16" barrel and a TA31 ECOS... and I also have a SPR Stainless 18" Noveske Upper on a POF lower w/ a 2 stage trigger that doesn't have any optic yet. What do you think I should do?

Put the TA31 on the 18" SPR and rock out an aimpoint or trijicon RX30 on the N4?

Put the TA31 on the 18" SPR and get a 1-4x for the N4

Keep the TA31 on the N4 and put something like the new Trijicon 5-20 on the SPR

or something else I haven't thought of.

I plan on using the N4 for carbine classes and I don't want to be over 1k on new optics

YMMV but this is just my opinion

carbines generally speaking get CQB optics, possibly low magnification optics (4x ACOG being the biggest)

Rifles too can have CQB optics but I tend to think they should have some sort of low magnified optic on them

SPR/RECON/REECE/WTF-ever all should have higher magnificaiton then the previous two.  Since they're role is that of a longer range engagement they should have low-medium variable powered scopes (4x-15x).  If you want some close up versatility get a small red dot and mount it on an offset rail on your handguard.  Within 100yds use the dot, out past 100 use the main scope.

Varmint guns should have FF tubes (cheaper and most varmint guns are bench/hunting...tubes are generally lighter and cheaper then quads) w/ bipods and a med-high powered variable scope (8-20x or more).

don't know if that helps much.

oh and FWIW if you're considering a magnifier combo for a CQB optic, understand that it's main use is target ID...not precision work.

Any more opinions. I'm leaning towards TA31 on spr.
