When I set my rifle in a rifle rest and look through the scope, the cross hair will move on the target as I move my eye position. What is this called and is it bad? I know with the Aimpoint Red Dots the dot will always be on the target regardless of your sight picture. Meaning the point of impact never changes with a different sight picture.
I have always shot M68's in the military and never scoped rifles. I was hoping that the sight picture idea from the Aimpoints would be the same in a scope.
Does this mean that, with my scope, my eye will have to be in the same position eveytime I shoot? Thanks |
| Yes, with maginified optics your eye must be centered in the glass. If your seeing black through the scope, your not looking through it centered. Eotechs and Aimpoints are paralax free (to an extent) which allows the dot to be anywhere in the glass and be able to make hits. |
