This may be a noob question but, I purchased a Troy rear BUIS today, directions say to apply a "thread locking compound". Did yall use this with your buis??

I just used some blue locktite in case I want to replace it someday.
Blue should be good enough.

I use blue Loctite, and then put a witness mark on it so I can see if the screw moves.

Another vote for BLUE Loctite. I use it on every screw and/or nut I can for cheap "CYA" purposes.
