I have a Leapers straight 4x with mil-dot

I have not shot with it yet but it feels well made and is clear

Not a Leupold for sure but a nice little scope

No it isn't.

The end

What may feel like well made and clear to you can vary when viewed by others.  I'm used to ACOGs, and have seen plenty of mid price range 3x and 4x scopes, they all seem vastly inferior in clarity, the view out of the scope has narrow FOV and is yellow in color, and distorted.

I'd never go cheap on optics.  I'd go as low as Leupold, as I have with my SPR Mod1 and SDM-R clone only because I wanted to stay somewhat faithful to the originals, but I'm no fan of Leupold's either, I'd much rather get a US Optics or Nightforce.

Even in such undemanding environment these toys are found wanting.  Quality costs money, excellent service and warranty cost money, cheap scopes are cheap because they cut corners in these, and other areas.

The glass in these is coke bottle quality, that's been sanded alot.  The reticle is suspended with a friction-held adjustment.  It may very well hold up for a few range sessions, if it holds zero. Then... it will crap the bed.

Any screws involved may strip, as they are pot metal. Or, the reticle will shake lose from the massive .223 recoil, and wind up bouncing around. or the adjustments will give up the ghost. One of these things WILL happen, because of how and where it's made, and by whom.

Then, you'll buy another $79.00 scope. Add up the costs all told, and at the end of the day springing for even a Bushnell Elite 3200 2x7 for $175 would be cheaper and last 10 years.
