Im waiting for my Rock River elite comp rifle to be shipped to me so I figured I would start buying all my accessories in the meantime. I have an aimpoint comp m2 and am thinking about mounting it on my rifle with a LaRue Tactical Cantilever CompM2 LT-129. I dont think that I will be purchasing a magnifier for this rifle but I like the way the mount looks and it appears that it will provide good eye relief while still allowing peripheral vision. Any thoughts on this?

If there are no plans for a magnifier, there is no need for a cantilever mount. But, like you said, you think "it looks cool", so whatever blows your skirt up. Myself, I dont see the point in spending the extra money for what amounts to jewelry.

Im running the LT150..

Both mounts are great. I have ran both the 150 and 129. Never had a magnifier, but I did like how the 129 put my M2 further away from me... seemed like I picked up the dot a bit faster with it in the 129.

I'd get the cantilever mount just because it allows versatility. I couldn't say that I will NEVER use a magnifier. The mount will last a lifetime. I could think of more reasons to use the cantilever than to not.

They are the same price ... and the cantilever mount has a built in battery storage compartment. You can move this mount forward or back anyway, so eye relief wouldn't be a problem at all. Actually you would have MORE versatility with eye relief using the cantilever.

I've got one on it's way to my house right now

The LT-150 also has a spare battery compartment located on the underside.
