with the first defective Aimpoint I have ever heard of.  Fresh from the box, no soap.

Anyone else ever even hear of that?

They are taking care of it.

Plain didn't work.  Unpacked it, put the battery in - zip.

Read instructions, had it right, flipped the battery anyway - zip.

Bought a new battery, the guy tested the old one and it had 2.4 volts (battery is 3), and then I kinda knew it was the unit.

Went home and put it in - zip.

Called the vendor, who said he never had one with a dead battery (my first thought) yesterday and told me he would pay for the new one.

He had to walk me through the process of putting a battery in today - same result.  I was really shocked myself.

So they are sending a new one as well as a UPS label for the one that doesn't work.

I mean hell - ya just put a battery in and you should be GTG.

Comes under the heading of Shit Happens I guess.

Are you saying that actually happened to you?  I have never heard anyone say they got an Aimpoint and it didn't work.

Yeah - I mean why screw around on a clearly defective product for chicken feed (to them).

i dont like aimpoints myself but i have to say that its a testament to their quality when everyone is shocked and amazed that somebody got one that doesnt work. I agree that aimpoint will probably take care of you immediately to insure that they keep their stellar reputation.

Ya know, I have an Eotech and 2 Aimpoints (when this one is replaced) and truth be told, the Eotech window is easier for me to see than the Aimpoint.

You just never know until you try different things and thank goodness for EE huh?

There are defects in everything, even god made some mistakes, well maybe more joke than mistake either way, it happens when you mass produce. Hell look at our soon to be pres.... However more importantly look at the killer customer service.
