Okay new to AR's and still trying to learn as much as possible.
That said I have a stag 2T with rear flip up ARMS 40-L. Really nice sight. After looking at it and reading i see there are two different apertures. It looks like the rear or long range aperture fold back towards the stock, but how do you do this it seems to be locked, but i cant find anything that will unlock it so it can fold
Little help please.

The large aperture does flip back, but the sight must be flipped up when you do that. You just grab the top of the large aperture and pull it backward and it will snap into place.

The large aperture has a spring loaded detent that makes it snap into place when you flip it back.

You must return the rear aperture back to the upward position before you flip the rear sight back down and lock it.

I hope that helps.

On mine, when the sight is flipped up for use, the two apertures are verticle, against each other with the small dia. aperture in back, and the large forward.  To use the small aperture, no action is required since the small dia. aperture covers up the large. Sight and shoot.

To use the large dia. aperture, the small dia. aperture folds back with minimal force and snaps in place, laying horizontal against the base of the sight.  This exposes the large aperture without doing anythng else.  The large aperture dia.doesn't fold back––it doesn't have to.

To stow the sight, the small dia. aperture has to be snapped back up into the verticle position against the large aperture, and having done so , the sight is ready to be folded back and stowed.

As noted, the small dia. aperture folds back with minimal finger force.  If your's is "stuck" in the verticle position it may need a little mechanical persuasion to seperate them the first time.

I think RandyStacyE and I are saying the same thing, but there's a little confusion on
the "large" versus "small" dia apertures.

Oops ... I said it backwards ... I fixed it here:

You must return the rear aperture back to the upward position before you flip the rear sight back down and lock it.

I hope that helps.

I know what you ment. Did require a little extra persuasion that first time but after that works great.
