I am thinking of getting one of the Aimpoint Micro red dot sights for a 9mm AR15 because they are nice and compact and light.  I'm not interested in night vision compatiblity, so which one do I want? R1, T1, or ??

I also need a very robust riser base for it.  The LaRue is good I know, but I really don't need quick detach.  Is there a solid simple base without getting a long risr rail?  Think lightweight..

Then you want the H-1.

I just use a little $20 mini riser under mine. It sits a little lower than std. AR line of sight but on a rifle with fold down BUIS it's great.

I like a 2 MOA and feel like 4 is just too large for anything long distance.   My .02.

Edit: Spelling

I have a T-1 and just got one of the new H-1's that has the parkerized finish instead of the blued. I got the H-1 to save some money since I already have a couple of NV compatible sights. They all have the same battery life. Can't help you on the riser question I run Larue mounts.

The 2moa vs 4moa is kind of a moot point especially with a 9mm carbine. YMMV

2 vs 4 MOA isn't really relevant since the Micro is closer to 3 MOA

Not to hijack, but how well do the Micro series work with magnifiers such as Aimpoint 3x?

They work just fine together.

A slightly smaller field of view compared to a 3 or 4 series Aimpoint but not much.

Thanks guys!  I will likely get a LaRue mount as I know they are rock solid.
