I already looked at the big bad BUIS FAQ page and it didn't really answer my question. Sorry if my question is a total Noob question I have just been wondering lately. I put my rear BUIS on the very last notch on my gun. Would putting it a notch closer and then zeroing it in again make it more accurate? I'm not a noob to shooting but i'm no expert either but I was shooting 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 25 yards. I've already looked at the sighting procedure given and I've made the adjustments to my sights. I was shooting with some federal 55 grain plinkers I think.

ok. I'll accept your answer. Is there something else that I should be doing? Its not a huge deal cuz I'm going to get a different optic but i just think its pretty important for my BUIS to be accurate too.

Decreasing the sight radius will in no way help your groups.

You just need to practice.  And while it is important for your BUIS to be zeroed, for me "minute of man" is good enough.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the tip.

I think his misconception is his rear aperature is too large when he is in close on it.  Use the small aperatture and back off if you want an especially tight group.  Yo uwant as much sight radius as possible.  If yo ujust want a smaller rear than your current rear is when NTCH back off on the stock a little and it will shrink and make shooting easier.

Persoanlly, I cant do better than 4 MOA with irons.  It mostly just my eyesight.  I do 1" groups at 25 yards.  With magnified optics I can do 1" at 100 yards easy.
