heres the catch... I want to be able to swap this optic over from one upper to another in a different cal. with little to no re-zeroing.

is there any optic out there from any manufacturer that will do this that wont take a bunch of time to re-zero if any at all?

or would a better option be to buy what I want and zero with one upper and swap and then re-zero while counting clicks and memorizing them for when I want to swap over?

depending on how often you would be swapping the optic, i think that the best bet would be to buy two separate optics rather than having to re zero.

I thought about that but I don't feel like spending $2000+ on 2 optics when that extra money could go to NFA toys or a different upper or ammo

1.  There are no $1000 red dot optics.  $1000 (what you think ONE optic costs) can buy two optics.
2.  Even if you use the same barrel length and same caliber you have to rezero on a new upper... if you mount to a different rail slot you usually have to rezero on the SAME upper.

you are correct, there are no $1000 red dot optics(as far as I know). HOWEVER I'm looking at the Aimpoint M4 or M4S and they are right about $780, also I need at least one magnifier at $500+... so, I'm looking at over $1000 for a full set of optics........

in the end, you DID answer my question so on that note, thank you
