a) what the thinnest front sight post available is? I keep seeing .050 but I swear I used to have one that was .038
b) where to find it?

Are you sure you're not confusing the .038" figure with a rear sight aperture? IMO, a front site post that thin would require a great deal of eyeball resolution in order not to have the brain produce an image that changes the shape of the post.

Idk but I have a KNS carbine post and can't see why anyone would need anything much thinner. The stock post is way to large.
