| New member here. I was so impressed with the latest elections that I went and bought me a DPMS LR-308; I learned my lesson––I waited too long––after Clinton got elected. I have a scope already lined up for it; a Leuold Vari-X III 4.5-14X50 LRT w/mildot (30 mm tube) that I pulled off my Model 70 varmint rifle a while back (I put a much higher power scope on it). My question is on mounts. Will I need low/med/high/extra high mounts to get this scope to clear and still have cheek weld? Or am I not going to be able to have cheek weld with this big of an objective? I'm not new to guns, I'm an avid hunter/target shooter; but with the exception of a .30 M1 carbine I got thru the CMP a year or so ago, I am new to setting up military-style rifles such as this. Any suggestions on mounts would be welcome as well. Thanks |
