hey guys, i need some help in deciding which scope to get for my new ar. its nothing special yet, just a stag lower and 24" grendel i got from alexander arms. im trying to decide on which scope to get for it. i know alot of people are saying they get alot of sucess from the super sniper, which seems like an alright deal for what it is. but this scope is on sale from midway right now..
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=746570&t=11082005 i havent shot the mildot before, just the normal sight picture one. it seemed like a decent scope its just the 50mm is so damn huge. however it is on sale for really cheap. most of the shots i will be taking will be in the 300-400 range but i still want some usability as short as 75 for plinking in the back yard. is the SS really its all cracked up to be? |

Well I can't speak for the SS but most on this forum like it.
I agree that the Simmons you are looking at is a good deal, and I agree that the 50mm tube sucks, but I think what that scope has going for it is the 5-star review but the 112 people that took the time to write about it. I've always thought Simmons is cheap shit, but for $100 I think that scope would be impossible to beat. |
