I've got an Eotech 512 that I really love, and I'd love to enhance it's abilities with a magnifier. I like the design of the Larue mount for the aimpoint magnifier, but....the aimpoint it about a hundred bucks more than the Eotech one, PLUS the 125 for the mount. So...does anybody know if the Larue mount for the Aimpoint magnifier can be used with the cheaper, non swing to side version of the Eotech magnifier? |

You may want to keep in mind the different eye relief between the Eotech and Aimpoint magnifiers. I see a lot of people complaining about how much they don't like the only 1.5" eye relief on the Eotech 4x magnifiers. They say they have to move their head to far forward and it's uncomfortable. Whereas the Aimpoint will give you 2-2.5" eye relief and I see people mention that extra inch really helps out. This was the selling point that got me to choose the Aimpoint magnifier. Also, using that ebay/live 30% cashback deal you can get the Aimpoint 3x magnifier for close to the price of the Eotech magnifier (when not using the 30% deal on the Eotech). So thats another thing to consider and yes the Aimpoint magnifier does work with Eotechs. |

Well that's what I figured. I was hoping to do the ebay deal on the eotech no flip mag and then buy a larue mount but...looks like no dice. Thanks for the help guys...I'll probably end up with the aimpoint mag. Especially with the eye relief issue, which I was not aware of - thanks! |
| LaRue's new product sheet that they're shipping has a shot of the LT-697 EOTech magnifier mount. I don't think it's available yet, and I can't find any details on it, but it appears to be flip mount designed to mount a magnifier (I can't tell if it's for an EOTech brand or Aimpoint) on the extra 2 slots of rail on the back of the LT-110 EOTech mount. Might want to hold out for a bit and see what happens; it can't be too far out if they have it in the product sheet. |
