What should I get? 1) Plant on kitchen table pointed at bird feeder so kids can look up birds 2) Bring to 25-200 yard range and park on bench to look at holes in paper That is it. |

I have a Burris 20-60x80 that's decent (big and heavy, though). I can easily see .22 holes at 200. Clarity is good. Eye relief can be a minor pain with glasses. They start at $180. Champion Shooters Supply stocks Konus as their "value brand" See www.championshooters.com/Scopes-g.htm
They also sell Celestrons. See www.championshooters.com/Scopes-c.htm |
| I have one of the "Winchesters" that's probably near the bottom of the barrel in terms of something "acceptable" but it does the job for me. It's 12-50X, small and lightweight, comes with bench tripod, and soft and hard cases. It's sold by several large retailers like Cabellas for around $90. Don't know about seeing .22 cal holes at 200yds--never tried. I know I wont be suicidal, however, when the inevitable happens and I drop the darn thing on the concrete. |

Howdy, The scope I linked to below isn't the cheapest thing out there, but is an excellent scope for the money. The gentleman selling this is a fine fella and is well known in the High Power shooting world. This scope is about the best price vs. performance spotting scope out there and is about half the price of the big names. It would serve you well. Regards, Dave http://www.jarheadtop.com/KONUS.htm |
