I have a 552 mounted on a LT mount. Normally I never paid any attention but last night i was playing with it and noticed that when I went down to my irons, the latch for the battery cover gets in the way! No matter how hard I push down, THERE IT IS!

It covers enough of the front sight post that I can barely make it out.

Anyone else have this problem?

No, I can see my Iron's through my EoTech/LT combo just fine. Of course my Eo is a 512.

I have my 512 mounted directly on my upper. I also have front & rear Troy BUIS. I like the co-witness, never really like the lower 1/3 set-up. I personally would ditch the LT mount (Not that I don't like LT gear, just don't like the Eotech higher than the BUIS)

that should not be a problem, i used to run the LT/552 combo until i switch to a 553.

What kind of BUIS combo are you running?

here is a side shot of the eotech. As you can see the latch is clearly sticking up!

The latch is not all the way down which is also why there is a slight gap between the battery cover and the body of the sight.

Hmmm... never noticed the gap. I've shot in in the rain and no leaks.

The problems with the latch is that it won't push down any further! In the picture, the latch is at the tightest it can get.

Unless they've changed their latch style that one looks bent.

Are you sure the battery compartment is seated all the way it can go?  It looks a smidgen elevated and forward, which may be why the hook won't go all the way down.

the latch isn't crooked because i checked with a mini leveler. I thought this at first as well but figured out it wasnt.

I crammed the compartment as far forward as I could get and that's the best I can come up with. The tab is 2cm above horizontal and makes the biggest difference in the world even with a riser!

Should I just call L3?

Just got back from the safe to stare at mine..looks like your latch is bent and the battery case looks like its not on yet
