Hey all,

I am looking at going with an Eotech or aimpoint for my AR and had a couple questions regarding my front sight.

I was thinking about getting an Eotech riser to put my front sight in the lower half of my sight picture but am also open to any suggestions for a flip up front sight to completely get my front sight out of the way as co witnessing is not important to me.

What flip up front sights would you guys reccomend? I would like to keep the price around $100.00.

Also, is this something I can easily install myself?? I have read that the roll pins can be tough to remove. I am also clueless as to what happens to the gas tube, would it fit into the new flip up front sight the same way it does with my current one?

YHM clamp on gas block/front flip around $100 and easy to install once you remove your FSB. The taper pins in the FSB require a pretty hard blow to remove. The gas tube slides inside the new sight/block.

I use UTG front & back flip-ups. I also own a couple of UTG risers to switch out red point and scope. Here:

I don't have any expirence with them but I know bushmaster makes one that is folding front sight / gas block.  It's part of their B.M.A.S. series...I was thinking about getting one to try on one of my uppers but I havent yet.  If memory serves it was about $95.

Thanks for the fast input guys!

I like that YHM and the price is perfect. I can see after looking at the pics at the YHM site how the gas tube fits.

Am I ever going to stop spending $$ on my AR or am I pretty much screwed from here on out?

Nope your screwed...doomed like the rest of us to pure endless amounts of $$$ into your rifles.  George Lucas said in an interview that films are never completed just abandoned, I think the same is true for ARs.
