Anyone have any experience with the Comp M4s? Is there any advantage to having the battery mounted lower like the M4s? Does it get in the way of rounds being extracted? Do extracted rounds hit the Aimpoint battery case at all? Thanks in advance |
I have an M4s also known as M4 Bravo model. The lower battery provides a lower profile to the optic that I prefer over the regular M4. And no, the new position of the battery tube does not interfere with exiting rounds. Besides the battery location between the two optics, they are mechanically identical. The Comp M4 can now be found a lot cheaper as dealers try to make inventory for the new M4S model. |
OK thats good. I couldn't tell from pictures about the ejected rounds. I know what you mean by giving it a lower profile, but was the regular positioned battery (up top) hitting or bumping other objects in the field or something? Is that why they designed the S? Thanks for the feedback! |

To me it is more of a preference. Looking forward to see what SWAT has to say. Mike @ CSGW www.csgunworks.com [email protected] Here’s some testimonials about CS GunWorks FEEDBACK about CSGUNWORKS on AR15.com FEEDBACK about CSGUNWORKS on Snipersparadise FEEDBACK about CSGUNWORKS on the HIDE |

The S model was the original design for the US Army to replace the M3, but Military came back asking for the control to be place back at the top of the tube. so the M4 started product with the current M4 configuration and put the M4S design on the back burner. the S model does give a lower profile which I love, but the regular model make brightness adjustment with rolling your palm back and forth over the knob much easier task. I have been running a M4s on a carbine build for me by Centurion Arms, for me, I like the control by the 4 o'clock position, but that is just my lowly civilian opinion... |
