hey all, I have an ar with BUIS and a leupold 1.5-5. I know the BUIS should be zeroed at 50 yds, but how shall I zero the optic? Also, when mounting optics, is there a better way to mount it than just simply "eyeballing" the scope to see if it is straight? thanks... jay |
Zero your optic at 100. Eye ball are about the best DIY method, you can also buy bubble level that will help you align the scope, secure the mount, tighten the ring to the scope just slightly, then you can make fine adjustment against a line in your house that you know is level. amke adjustment, tighten the ring and readjust as required... |
| Id zero at 50 yards as well. Thats how my 1-4X optic is zeroed and my BUIS is a same plane set up so both aperatures and my optic all have the exact same POA/POI at all ranges. The only time youd want to zero at 100 IMO is if you have a specific calibration on your BDC in your reticle like an ACOG or a BDC on your turrets like Leupold M3 turrets. |
