Here's my setup:  Aimpoint in an ARMS 22M68 with cantilever extension.  Behind that, a Samson flip mount with Aimpoint 3X.  What BUIS will fit on the remaining real estate on my flat top upper and also underneath my 3X?  Do I only need one rib on the upper rail to attach a BUIS?  That's all I've got left as everything is mounted now.

My Troys and KAC 300m BUIS only needs the first rib between T1 and T2 rail, and the T2 marking in the groove are visible when the BUIS are mounted.

You need to know what's the gap between your Aimpoint 3X magnifier and the top of the rail to select the proper BUIS.

Example of BUIS heights when folded:

GG&G MAD: 0.625"
ARMS 40L: 0.610"
Troy: 0.460"
MI SPLP: 0.4375"
KAC 300m: 0.315"

I would recommend the Troy for a carbine because the windage adjustment won't get accidentally moved (shrouded design) and in my opinion it's the most robust folding BUIS available.

More BUIS heights listed in this thread.

Thanks for the info.  I was thinking of getting the Troy before I posted this, but wanted to get some feedback from those that have experience with them.
