I know its just a back up but I expected better groups from my MATECH compared to what I get with the carry handle my group seems to be all over the place. Is there a better more accurate BUIS?I love the Matech just not the groups im getting at 50 yds..my carhandle sights are beautiful but the back up seems a little bit to be desired.

I don't know anything about Matech, but after I switched my A2 carry handle for a Troy BUIS, my shooting improved.  Could be a fluke...

Anyway, I really like my Troy.

Id have to agree, my Troy is awsome. But if your running a reflex sight or BUIS only then you may look into the LMT BUIS, its basicly your A2 carry handle with the handle cut away.

I actualy have a cut down handle..that works well to I just invested in the Matechs and wish they were a bit more precise. Is the troy a single arperture or is there a large and small?

Other option would be the simpler A2 sights without the complete carry handle back (YHM, or the LaRue hooded QD version)

I don't see why there'd be much of a difference between that and the Matech, although I just went with the TROY's to be tacticool, havne't looked back.

They're large/small.  Ditto for the PRI and MI SPLP's.  The MI ERS, ARMS #40, YHM BUIS would also accomplish that (for reflex, they're not as low profile).

Fixed ones would also work - LMT being among the nicest, but the LaRue would be my choice there, if not modying your own off YHM's Windage/Elevation adjustable type

If you want more precise, maybe the Knight BUIS's are what you're after?

The Troy has both.  And I will add a +1 for the Troy..

Im only after at least a 4" group at 50 yds I can hold that with the carry handle sight and a little under but then I switch to the Matech and the group opens up to 6" some times a bit more with a flyer.Maybe if I hold my head further back so the sight picture looks like the front ears and post fill up the space more.2" using the same sight picture except the BUIS is a bit more roomy seems a bit disapointing to me and frustrating.I switch back to the handle and everythings nice and snug again.Anyone have a link for the TROY with the best price..im assuming its in the $120 range.

Another +1 for the Troy, I use them on my two carbines.

I'm not familiar with the Matech BUIS, it doesn't have a small aperture?

Every time I want to make good groupings I use my small aperture on all my BUIS.

I've also used my KAC 300m, LMT and Colt detachable carry handle using their small apertures to get the best groups as possible.

Price is pretty much the same no matter where you go...about $140.  The banners at the top are good retailers.  Bravo Company is good.  Try LaRue...you always get some free Larue swag with your orders...
