Is the eotech 511 (ver. F) any good or to out dated, I can pic one up new in box for 340.00 or anybody know if the 516 is out yet and would it be worth the exra cash( if they are even around). Going on a RRA med heavy....mostly range shotting and of course home defence if ever needed.

The 511 uses the n batteries and therefore has a shorter run time. I would at least get the 512. It has a much longer run time. and aa batteries are cheaper

Do you know anythink about the new 516 using 123 batts and life?

The catalog shows the 553 uses 2 123 batts. and its life is rated at 1100 continous hours on settin 12. That is the same as the 512 with aa lithiums

BTW adawg had a 512 for sale on the EE. Ithink it was 350
