Having held, looked through, and fondled one of these at the local hunting/fishing store, I had the hairbrained idea that it could *POSSIBLY* be set in an Aimpoint/Eotech mount as a magnifier. Now, we don't need to have a discussion about who needs a 6x behind a reflex sight, but just on if we think that this fine, high quality, German optical device could handle recoil, and would just simply work. |

I use the Brunton 7x18 Echo Pocket Scope ($21.32) mounted inside a knock off of an ARMS cantilevered mount w/q.d. lever. http://www.opticsplanet.net/brunton-7x18-echo-pocket-scope.html It's really accurate and and holds up well under .223 recoil. Plus, it only costs around $50. I can't justify buying the real Eotech or Aimpoint magnifiers for $400 anytime soon. I think they're overpriced for only a 3x magnification. Have you looked on eBay for the Arimpont knockoffs from China? I've heard pretty decient things about them. |

Interesting... I'll have to go play with the Ziess again. To me it is sad that only L3 and Aimpoint have glass for their stuff. Sure, we have the cheap knock off china ones, and a few of them could be decent enough to use, but why don't they come out with something of their own design? Why do they have to try and copy cat others? Why doesn't Sightron step in and put out some glass? Or ATN? |
You have to put it in the last notch, as pictured so you can put your eye right on it. Poor eye relief among a bevy of other poor eye relief monoculars. Unfortunately, you're stuck with the EOTech/Aimpoint magnifier or their clones if you want something usable. |
