Any body here have one of the $70 centerpoint red green mildots from walmart. Are they any good and would they hold up to the recoil of a 7.62 ar?
thanks

It will hold up but to how many shots should be the question?  I will say you pay for what your get.

What would you like to do with the rifle?
How fair would you like to shoot?
What is your setup? Barrel length and so on?
What is your budget?

They're $70
They're from Walmart.

Save your money.  Seriously.

My BSA red dot has seen a lot of crossbow and 222 service.  The dot is not perfect, but it is fine.

I bought one and took it back. Even for a $70 scope I felt it wasn't worth it. I mounted it on a .22 and had issues with zero. It may have been that particular scope but I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to zero another.

Another thing to remember the more bells and whistles a scope has the more it costs to make and the more quality they have to cut on cheaper scopes. These cuts are normally in the glass and the mechanical parts resulting in lackluster performance.

A scope without all the same bells and whistles for the same price will be a much better scope in the same price range.
