Will weaver type rings work on the picatinny style rails?  This is a RRA scout rail and I really prefer to mount my scope with Burris Signature Zee rings with tthe inserts.  I like these rings because they don't leave ring marks.  i know there are regular rings that will not mar scopes but I just have these on all my rifles and this is my first AR experience.  Sorry for such a rookie question and thanks in advance for anyone who clears this up for me.

Maybe and maybe not.
There are Weaver rings and Weaver style rings, but they are all done slightly different, so one set may fit a Picatinney and another may not.

Brownells has a good explanation of the differences with Pictures! But, sorry to say, I didn't book mark that page.

Yes, they should work fine.

Picatinny is a spec, while Weaver is a design concept, and everyone does it differently, even Weaver on their different mounts and rings.

That said, the main differences are that Weaver slots tend to be narrower and the spacing tends to be different.  Most Weaver gear will work fine in Picatinny slots, as long as they're butted against the front of the slot when mounted (just like Picatinny).  Some Picatinny gear with wide recoil lugs, like YHM's gas block front sight and the Armalite one-piece, won't fit in a Weaver rail.
