I see all these pics on here of ARs with a front A2 style site post but the rear (flat top upper) seems to have a flip up sight on some of them. And then some have a scope as well.

So if you have a scope mounted to these isn't the front post in the way? or do you just mount your scope a little higher.

And if you have a scope mounted (or in some cases I see halo sights) then why even have the front sight post and the rear flip up? or is that just the back up sights?

Thanks

With a magnified optic the front sight base is not noticed and appears sorta transparent in the view.
With a non mag  optic it is there and you work around it.

Ok got it, thanks

Now can someone explain why some ARs have a rear flip up sight, a scope or optic, and a front A2 post?

Because batteries can die, switches can fail and glass can crack.

A2 fronts work with flip up rears.
