http://www.shirstone.com/ This red dot maker is unknow in France. Do you use it and what do you think about quality/price, etc...? Thx with advance for any information. S! |
| I remember being in a meeting with the owner of this company a couple of SHOT Shows ago. (I hang out with the people from the factory we use.) Although the company headquarters is in Japan, they contract outside of Japan exclusively from what I can recall. As for the quality, that's always difficult to say because one product or line of product may come from a very good factory while another product or line of product might just suck but if you're getting Chinese quality at Japanese pricing, that's not good. Good luck. |

We saw them at IWA (Germany) and in a small french shot show. All the product was "made in Japon" with a nice looking (red dot really clear without blur). Now the good question is, we can use it only on 22lr ou thoses products resist at .223/.308 and other calibers? |

All I can say is that Shirstone is virtually unknown in the US except at the SHOT Show. I have to assume that since the only people that ask about Shirstone have not been American, that Shirstone sells outside of the US. When I met the owner, he was the only Japanese in the room, and my boss and I were the only Americans in the room. Both the .223 and .308 are pretty easy recoiling rounds. That's part of their charm. Most optics actually fail early in their service life due to improper mounting. The next biggest reason for failure is improper assembly, then comes defective parts. On the other hand, just due to the anecdotal evidence on internet boards, some brands have a bad reputation. As Shirstone is almost unknown here in the US, you'll have to check out a large number of US boards to find someone with personal knowledge. Still, there's no reason to suspect that it's bad product. I hope there was something useful here for you. Good Luck! |
Thx sir. I have the same feeling. |
