How much does the front site get in the way of the site picture if I had a riser on a flat top with a scope?

Not much at all, the higher the power the scope the more the front sight dissapears.
On my 4X ACOG my front sight is hardly even seen in the scope.

My scope is mounted on ultra high mounts which place the centerline of the scope 1.4" above the rail.  This same dimension, 1.4", is also the standard height of the iron sights on ARS. The front sight, therefore is dead center in the middle of the scope field of view.  At 3X, the front sight is a blur, and at any higher power, the front sight is invisible. I was skeptical too, but the front sight obscuring anything is a non-issue at any significant magnification.

I have a 3X TA33 on my carbine with fixed front sight base.  It's there if you are looking for it,  but mostly goes un noticed while shooting.  Even when seen it is just a translucent blur at best.
