what are the best night sights to use? Most look like pistol sights except meprolight with the post. What do you guys use and/or like.

I have Trijicon front and rear night sights on my AR.
Most people just run the front post night sight as they say the rear is too bright.
I don't have that problem with the Trijicon and have seen the meprolight sights. I can not tell the difference between them.

I have the trijicons on my 9mm Bushy carbine, and I can barely see them unless it's pitch black.  The vials are very small.  If I had to do it again, I don't think I'd buy them.

Yours may be old, silver.

They wear out over time.  I think the half life is around 12 years?  So, maybe half as bright around then, then half again.  If yours are marked, see if you can get a date on them.  I believe trijicon has a replacement policy for theirs, I assume the other places do as well.

Mine have been great, front and back.  I don't recall if I went trijicon or not, but whatever they are, I've been very pleased with them.

I ordered a new AK, and I'll put meprolights on it as soon as somebody ships them and I verify the FSB isn't canted.
